Okan Buruk, the head coach of Galatasaray, made important statements regarding transfers while at the team’s training camp in Austria.

“WE DON’T HAVE ANY IDLE TIME; WE’RE WORKING ON TRANSFERS”

In an interview with beIN Sports, Buruk emphasized that the team is fully engaged in transfer activities, stating, “We don’t have any idle time here. Even during the two training sessions, we are assessing players and working on transfers. The transfer period is very busy for us. We must remain continuously active, and sometimes we meet with players. Abdullah Bey is here, and we are continually meeting and holding discussions.”

“WE STRIVE TO MAKE THE BEST TRANSFERS”

The experienced coach highlighted the importance of taking time for quality transfers, saying, “Our fans are always justified in their concerns. We are trying to do our best and make the best transfers. Our president and management are fully onboard with this. We understand our fans’ reactions. Sometimes, you need to wait for certain players. When we step outside the hotel, people keep asking, ‘Where are the transfers?’ They are completely justified, and we want them to know that we are working diligently and are not standing still. Achieving the best sometimes requires time.”

“WE NEED TO RAISE OUR SQUAD QUALITY”

Buruk emphasized the necessity of improving the squad’s quality, stating, “Last year was a learning experience. The quality of your squad and the number of players you have will be crucial from September to January. We fell short last year. After January, we improved our squad depth, created competition among players, and built a broader squad. Last season, we faced the worst-case scenario and suffered from a lack of available players from the bench. We need to be prepared as a squad and focus on enhancing our quality.”

“OUR PRIORITIES IN TRANSFERS…”

Discussing his transfer priorities, the coach mentioned, “Our priorities are a playmaker, a left winger, and a striker. We have already made a midfield transfer. We will decide whether to strengthen the defense based on our current players. Our fans can rest assured; we understand and accept their reactions. During this process, they should know that we aim to make the best transfers and not think about anything else. We are committed to working earnestly.”
